Vet School Open House

We have found a fun, free annual activity! Each spring the Texas A&M Vet School puts on an open house that includes all things animal. I am not sure of their motivation, but I would like to think of it as a program to encourage children to get involved in animal sciences. If I am ever to be accused of trying to live out my dreams through my children, it will be here. I will make sure my children are exposed to any activity that encourages a future among animals. They are free to decide, of course! but I just can't help it, I love anything and everything to do with animals.

Of course the kids just loved what we saw. There was so much more to do than we had time for, we simply have to go back next year. What we did see included lots of dogs, a few miniature horses, and lots and lots of reptiles. We had to wait in line an hour for the reptile room, then spent probably 30 minutes inside. After that, we were ready for lunch.

What we missed included frisbee dogs, teddy bear surgery, a pathology collection, and the world's tallest horse. Next year we will have a plan that includes all of those things.

All in all, we had a blast. I cherish all moments like these and look forward to finding more for us to enjoy together as a family.
